Anyone else keeping an eye on this? Nitesh Tiwari's two-part Ramayana adaptation (Diwali 2026) has been shaping up to be one of the biggest Indian productions ever — Ranbir Kapoor as Rama, Yash as Ravana, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and that first teaser did absolutely insane numbers on YouTube, breaking viewing records within hours of release.

What I'm most curious about is the VFX. DNEG and some Oscar-winning effects talent are reportedly involved, and the film is being shot for IMAX. After the way Adipurush went down, it feels like this production is going out of its way to say "we're taking this seriously" — practical sets, proper pre-vis, the works.

Do we know much about the runtime yet? If it's genuinely two full parts this could be India's answer to a big-budget mythological epic with LOTR-scale ambition. Fingers crossed the next teaser shows more actual effects shots rather than just title cards and music.

What are people's expectations — genuine hope, or are we all just bracing ourselves?

I have not being following this story in extreme detail, but one thing worries me deeply, and it goes far beyond this case.

Despite both sides (guilty/injustice) making excellent points, there are groups on either side who have extremely strong black and white opinions.

How can any reasonable, intelligent, person be cast iron certain when:

a) They haven't even seen most of the evidence.

b) The other side can make a very strong case that their view is correct.

It reminds me of the Louise Woodward case where, despite two well respected experts giving completely contradictory evidence about timing, a jury found her guilty beyond all reasonable doubt.

How can you have no reasonable doubt when experts cannot agree about critical evidence?

How do people own content now?

During COVID was the time when I moved to digital for films. I moved fully to Apple TV store (already in the Apple eco system anyway). I boxed up loads of blu rays and they went to music magpie or CEX (shops were shut at that time). I kept some which are not on streaming. But my main collection is Apple, with some discs and then Plex runs some content that you can't really buy.

I have an OLED tv and Apple films in 4K HDR are impressive to me.

Currently, I use several Gmail accounts for photos, and my Office-365 cloud for RAW (as well as local HDD backups). But storage is filling up, and somewhat adhoc.

This looks very interesting, completely free/open source, and even has Android/Apple photo apps ...
