AI Colourisation is much better than PS neural filters, and here's a hack to combine the two methods (for free) -Β

Such a simple tip for novice PS users like me - remove the edge glow, seen when a dark object is against a bright object (often the sky).

I've not compared bigjpg directly to lightroom's new-ish upscaling (and I'm no good with PS) but this image-upscaler seems to do a very good job, very quickly. Works online, or there's a windows app (which just serves as a gui for the site, so it still up/downloads).

I didn't get such good results from a tranparent PNG, but my small 40k test photo came out much improved.

There's also something called chainner that looks way to complicated for me (but with very cool install screen!)
