Well, I don't need the jab then - I only went and got Covid instead!

Felt a bit off last Thu then very bad when I got up on Fri.  I have a load of out-of-date tests so I used one and it went +ve in moments.
Tested -ve today.  I don't feel over it yet but went back to work as you are now expected.

Sorry to hear that @Ricinus
Hope you're feeling better soon (and have no after effects)

From the FT (paywall):

Health authorities in England are bringing forward the latest Covid-19 booster vaccination programme to counter a potentially dangerous sub-variant of the virus.

The UK Health Security Agency suggested speeding up the autumn vaccination programme to provide the public with greater protection from serious illness.

The rollout — for people in care homes, the clinically vulnerable, those aged 65 and over, health and social care staff and carers — will now start on September 11, rather than in early October.

That's better, though keeping it for the over 65s (et al) is still not enough.

Yes, I would agree - 50+ would be better, along with teachers.

When my Mum got covid, I'm pretty sure that jab#4 helped the 3 of us householders (Mum was only up to jab#3).

Heads up, you can now book a COVID jab appointment online. Was able to book mine (accepted either because of my heart problem or my wife's auto-immune condition) and getting it tomorrow afternoon. Also had my flu shot on Monday.

Pretty sure me and the mrs have got it at the moment. Been a week of bad flu-like symptoms, with the added bonus of awesome stomach cramps.
