I've read the pros and cons of all that and think it's a bit of a toss up.

Ha, didn't update this:

So Friday didn't happen. Got postponed / bumped as an actual emergency came in. So have had the weekend staying in the hospital...

Anyway, just had confirmation I'm going down to surgery at 07:45 tomorrow morning.

It's odd and I was telling this to my wife, because my operation was bumped three days I've spent the weekend relaxing here, with bed and board as if it's a wellness retreat (rather than one of the top cardiac centres of the UK) and as I'm talking to the other very sick older men around me (pretty much all triple and quad bypass work), I actually feel somewhat a fraud here. Do I need this operation? I'm feeling pretty good and calm.

I have to remind myself that I *do* actually have serious heart conditions (HCM, mitral valve regurgitation, enlarged right atrium) & my health *is* impacted / deteriorating.

The good thing is, the rest of my mind / body / health is pretty good condition (for a 59 year old anyway), so recovering should be quicker than most. In theory.
