Another good article from the dick doc, Andrew Siegel MD >
EXERCISES FOR SEXUAL FITNESS
- Cardio helps train for the bursts of exertion that sex demands. Fast walking, stair climbing, running, cycling, swimming.
- The more core strength, the stronger the “sexual engine” - Yoga, Pilates, planks
- Pelvic floor muscles: arousal to climax - Kegels remembering to relax the muscles after contracting them - article - and - full PDF book
- Keep having sex: increases pelvic and genital blood flow, optimizes tissue health and elasticity. “Disuse atrophy” is real ... use it or lose it!
- Improve hip mobility to to increase fluidity and comfort. Use a foam roller, bring knees upto the chest, squats & bridges, yoga (90/90, cat cow, happy baby).

BBC Radio 4 podcast - Prostate Cancer. One in eight men in the UK get prostate cancer, but deciding who needs treatment is unclear. Also a useful discussion on prostate biopsies - what type to get, how effective they are, and the risks involved. *Essential listening*

Libido and Ejaculation Changes in the Aging Male - by Andrew Siegel MD
tldr; use it or lose it!
Hello Doctor,
- Why do some older men experience a loss of libido?
- What’s the deal with dry ejaculations as they age?
This is the sort of thing I should probably look at - I have no health issues as such that I'm aware of, but my youth is decades ago now, and it's rare that I don't have to get up to use the loo in the early hours. If kegels can sort that I'm all for them, but the blurb for the Squeezy Men app states men should only do them as part of proper physio treatment - that routine pelvic floor exercises for those who don't actually need them can result in pains! I need an anonymous voice on the internet to tell me what to do!

hehe ... that's probably just a disclaimer - like all exercises, you can overdo things and end up with some muscle pain the day after. But with man-kegels you'd really have to be giving it some!
The exercise will give you better bladder control - like stopping midflow - and help prevent accidental leakage (old people smelling of wee).
But it won't have any effect on night-time loo visits. Assuming you're fairly fit and eating fairly healthy, there's not an awful lot you (we) can do, apart from the obvious - avoid caffeine after midday, stop all drinks 2 hours before bed ... more on the first page.
Well, have now arrived at the age where I get free prescriptions. How the hell did that happen?
Still, saves me buying prepayment certs for the year (and they're now £9.90 per item now!).
This is a must-listen for men our age ... 3 comedians talking about their experiences with cancer (recorded late 2024).
Matt Forde, Richard Herring and Mark Steel.
