I've updated the forums layout this morning. Let me know if you prefer it or not.

Main differences:

(1) The main forum page now functions like a "Recent Posts" from all subjects, and the subject forum is now less important (but still clickable at the top).

(2) The discussions are threaded, with a reply button under each post.

Main advantages:

(1) Site performance is improved.

(2) All recent posts are more prominent - no need to click into each forum, so less likely to miss something.

Hitting Recent posts is very slow for me. Seemed good after you applied this update but has been pretty bad for some days now.

Thanks, @arthurfowler. Recent Posts was always slow for me !

But after the December switch, the main forum page works fast and in a similar way > https://dvdforums.co.uk/community/

Maybe bookmark that page ?

And maybe I should remove the Recent Posts button ? >

I prefer Recent Posts. It gives the preview of the post and doesn't have the stuff at the top that I'm not interested in. But yes, that community page is faster.

I haven't posted much, but I like this forum style better.

I like it. Runs better and it's easier to get to the latest posts.

Thanks everyone for your feedback and likes. ? Looks like we'll stick with this new format.

I just added a small tweak - the individual forum subject icons are now clickable (to take you to the relevant forum) >

- which is in addition to the main forum list, top of page >

Yes, I see what you mean about the preview, although I never used that myself.

The 'stuff at the top' is the subforum list - I will try hiding that by default.
