BBC: Queen under medical supervision at Balmoral
Her family are already by her side, or on their way.
Personally, I think she should have stepped down at 75 - it's daft to think that certain professions are "till death" like Judges and Lords.
"Following further evaluation this morning, the Queen's doctors are concerned for Her Majesty's health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision"

London Bridge is down.
Rest in Peace, Ma'am.
R.I.P.
Seemed rather apt for this to be my first post on the new forums. Used to be the first destination for news of this ilk. ?
I've never been a staunch supporter of the monarchy, but I wouldn't want to have seen her abolished. I feel (unexpectedly to me) a slight sadness at the news of her death, perhaps because she's been there my whole life. Nobody, not even queens, can choose their family, and she was always a class act, especially when her family weren't. Charles has big shoes to fill. R.I.P.
Yes, I know what you mean, but personally I don't feel any sort of "loss", and it's good that her family could rally round.
I hope the Queen's funeral and King's coronation are not overly extravagant (maybe a combined event??) as it really isn't the time.
Meanwhile, this has got to be the Twitter thread of the day...

I do like the fact she stayed alive long enough to give Johnson his marching orders and see in a new PM.
After going through this while No10 partied, who can blame her for wanting the last word.
