I've not rewatched this since the early 90s, so definitely worth a look.
The cover artwork looks very promising. I wonder if there's any commentary from Rik from the DVD days ?

Woah ? ... never heard about that before, @boink
What a cool idea! ? I wonder if it's Lise Mayer ? (Although a photo with Lise, Ben & Rik from back in the day shows shorter wavy hair).
- Geoff Posner said that him and Paul Jackson thought it would be a laugh to strategically place a ghostly type figure in the background of some scenes.
- The consensus is the director and producer decided to put them in but forgot to do it consistently.

I've lost count of the number of times I watched The Young Ones (mainly in the decade they were released) and never noticed any of that. Wooooo!
This is a great interview with Richard Latto, the guy who put this (and other) blu boxsets together.
Good to hear that the eps are uncensored and as they first aired.
There's no mention of why Ade didn't participate though - anyone know why? Falling out?
And a BBC Radio special >

This is interesting and funny - Lee Mack interviews Ade, 2010. (The next in the series is good too - Ade interviews Ruby Wax).

I've just watched them all again and still didn't see any extra housemates. (I wasn't watching for them though as I'd forgotten about them). I did notice however that the musical number by Amazulu had been cut from episode 5 of series 2. I watched all but the last one on iplayer, but in the last couple of days most of series 2 has been removed. Good thing I have the DVDs.
Amazulu. That's funny, coz I'm a Glaswegian.
