I hadn't actually watched the trailer before, and of course it has the main plot in it, ie the search for something. It's not really a spoiler, but I went in blind and was playing safe! It's great fun.
That sounds like something Robert Rankin might have written. I'll have to seek it out.
That sounds a possible watch.
Just finished "The Last Thing He Told Me", a 7 episode, self contained story with Jennifer Garner finding out about her missing husband. It was entertaining enough (based on a novel) and had bonus points for bringing in Victor Garber too.
Also enjoying season 1 of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (much better than Star Trek: Picard). Season 2 is already out as well.
Anyone else watching The Bear on Disney. The Christmas Flashback episode must be the most frustrating bit of TV ever!
I don’t actually watch a lot of TV but watched both seasons in a couple of weeks - probably the best thing I’ve watched …the Christmas episode gave a work colleague a migraine..he said he just couldn’t cope with it 🙂
Just finished SEVERANCE - had high expectations given the rave reviews, but apart from a very intriguing first ep and a mind-expanding, galloping final ep, I'd say it was only "quite good" overall.
Very well made though, atmospheric, and with great cinematography.

We've been watching For All Mankind. AppleTV series about an alternative timeline where Russia landed on the moon before the Americans. Very well put together with quite a few famous faces.
The Night Agent - not bad, with some interesting and quirky side characters that could have their own spin off *. But a bit clunky and made-for-TV in style. It's Bourne meets 24, so you know what to expect. Refreshingly free from muttering, 6/10
* but fans of Bojack in particular will find one badly cast character is hard to believe in.
The Rabbit Hole - I enjoyed this more. Of course it's nonsense, but I've got a soft spot for Keifer, and he's perfect here. The main female character in particular is written very badly and is annoying in several scenes, but Dance almost makes up for it with his usual gravitas. Cos it's Paramount and only 45 mins, the story zips along. Disengage brain, and enjoy all the crazy twists, 7/10
The Sixth Commandment (BBC iPlayer) - an interesting psychological true-crime drama played absolutely straight, without gimics or twists. Excellently made and well-acted all-round.
Nit-picking, it's a tad detached (although equally hard to watch in places), the story a bit lop-sided, and the music occasionally over-dramatic.
Recommended, a solid 8/10

Slow Horses (Apple TV) - such excellent reviews for this all-round (and what a cast!) but I was a bit disappointed (at first). I found the tone to be off, weirdly cartoony or cliched, like it was trying too hard, and some of the 1-note attempts at humour just made me groan (another fart gag?)
But either S2 was better, or I had grown to forgive the shortcomings, and it finally started to grip me (apart from a bit of repetition).
Somehow, my memory of it is fonder than my enjoyment at the time, but it just scrapes an 8/10.

Who is Erin Carter? (Netflix).
I was expecting a kind of discount Bourne Identity from the premise and felt a little let down by the first episode as that didn't seem to be the case. I was going to give up on it, but the Mrs wanted to watch the next one. Glad I did as it picked up in episodes 2 and 3. I think it is meant to be discount Bourne, but the main actress didn't pull off the moves in the initial reveal so it looked more like a panicky reaction rather then skill. Worth a watch if you're at a loose end.
(I've seen a spoiler for what is supposedly the big reveal, but it's not that big and is very obvious from the first episode).
