This is excellent, and just 900 words... see if you can answer the puzzle before continuing.

If a bat and a ball together cost $1.10, and the bat costs a dollar more than the ball, how much does the ball cost?

Spoiler
hint towards the correct answer ...
Like most people, you probably came up with a very quick answer, but re-read the question, think about it for a moment, then you will realise that it's clearly not correct ...

Then, the wider implications take a real twist! 🤯

Last weekend there was a minor national scandal in Finland when it was SHOCKINGLY revealed that for decades the sound effects in cross country ski races on TV had been added to the broadcasts by foley artists, who had "ski swish", "crowd cheer", "cowbell" and other such samples on their MIDI keyboards and would just press keys to dub in the sounds.

This piece is in Finnish, but Google translate will do the job.

I suppose it's just life experience, but if anyone ever asks a seeming simple question I always assume the obvious answer is wrong - otherwise, why would they ask it?

I'm generally right about that, even if I can't answer the question, although this one was trivial.

"We thought we knew how Voyager 1 would end. The instruments would shut off, one by one. The signal would get fainter. Eventually either the last instrument would fail for lack of power, or the signal would be lost.

We didn’t expect that it would go mad.

Interesting ... how Google is failing to combat the fake review sites, and is actively promoting the scammers ...
