We're reaching the end game for brexit, now.

Gradually all the more intelligent leavers (Almost an oxymoron, I know) are admitting, not just to themselves, but to the rest of the world, what an unmitigated disaster brexit has been.

Only the severely mentally challenged, and rabid xenophobes, still cling to some bizarre hope that we'll suddenly all fly to cloud cuckoo land and start to believe in pink unicorns, Santa clause, and that brexit is a wonderful opportunity.

We can but hope ... but it needs the MPs to get up to speed - hopefully the secret meetings are a start.

Rayner trying to claim sheΒ needsΒ Apple kit is a perfect example.

Ummm no, a more perfect example is Zadawi's Β£5000+ to heat his horse stables ! ?Β

Besides, Apple users are often sucked/forced into the whole ecosystem - and to be fair, it's quality kit that works well (Mrs driver is constantly cursing herΒ  5⭐ rated Β£30 Xiaomi earbuds).

Expenses generally in any workplace is a weird one - if everyone else is doing it, and the guidelines are flexible enough, then why shouldn't you? It's difficult to resist, and creates a weird sense of entitlement. The best way would probably be to do away with expenses entirely and simply pay a bit more.
Example: I used to book hotel accommodation for a remote-working IT team (myself included), and rigorously arranged for everyone to collect their own hotel points. I always booked the cheapest suitable accommodation, but collected my points and used them personally rather than for work stays (9 nights in NYC, thanks very much!) When does a perk become corruption?

You can see the headline now ... Driver8 Fiddles Expenses to Fund Lavish 10-Day New York Holiday Bash!

Tell us, jezzer, how many billions have Labour politicians made from selling faulty PPE equipment to the British government?

Β

You know, just for the sake of balance.

Besides, my Zadawi reply was specifically in response to your 'perfect' example of Rayner. ?Β  I then went on to say that the whole expenses system is a flawed method - no need to quote the decade-old expenses scandal here!

You do seem to come back to this idea that the left promote themselves as whiter-than-white ... I have never seen anyone on here (or anywhere else) say that. All MPs exploit the system to some extent, but as Tory MPs are on average wealthier, they have more to gain. Simples.

Funny cos it's true! How the right-wing media discredit left-leaning commentators ...

it is natural for the party in power to be far more scrutinised and discussed than the opposition?

You're getting your panties in a bunch over something that is quite natural and, I'll hazard a guess, will flip once Labour are in power.

It will be interesting to see if you then spend hours obsessively searching out tory malfeasance to ensure 'balance'. (I'm guessing you won't.)

Looks like they already said no last December.

Β

*edit* I take it back, it's going to debate.
