You've really got to wonder how anyone, even life-long Tory voters, can seriously justify voting for this rabble!
From the Conference, we're spoilt for choice for crazy clips, but this must be one of the weirdest political speeches I've ever seen ...

So well made! ?
Sunak: We can't afford ยฃ50+m for the northern link.
ย
Also Sunak: So we'll cancel that and spend the money on something else.
HS2 should either have started with the northern link, or been scrapped years ago. Travel times from the midlands to london were already decent enough.

... and supposedly in the North, when in actual fact, much of it isn't (and isn't a percentage allocated to fix potholes??)

Yes, exactly! And you can bet it would then have made it down to London.ย It's also supposed to free up capacity in the old network, but I don't know how mych practical/economic benefit that would have.
A caller into JO'B said how long stretches had to be tunnelled in the Chilterns (?) so as not to spoil anyone's view!
Yes, here we go ... it's quite something actually ... I'd not seen any of this before. Still, HS2 is not something I would have voted for, and given the likely ticket prices will probably never even use!

Not to mention the people forced out of their houses on the path of the northern leg for what is now no reason.
Yeah, that is pretty grim, although I expect they would have got a decent price for their houses ? (I've not heard anything about that).
But of course, that's an absolutely massive waste of public cash too.
Believe it or not, this is the first Own Jones video I've watched (apart from a few socials clips) - I was going to FF thru it, but it's actually very well made and engaging ... The Tories, in their own words (apart from Andrew Marr who pops up right at the end).
