Well, the exit polls are not exactly discouraging.
0530... Starmer just officially confirmed as winner/PM on Radio 4.
Good news about Corbyn, who apparently is now the 'father of the house' by being the longest serving MP.
Bad news that both Tice and Farage (+ 30p Lee) got in... Not least cos they will be terrible MPs.Β
JRM, Schapps, and Mordaunt (+ Gillian Keegan) all gone, scuppering any plans to be party leader.
IDS only re-elected cos of split opposition vote.Β
I think it's a shame about Mordaunt as I thought she was one of the more sane Tories and would have made a much better leader. Very happy about JRM :D.
Hehe... Yeah, I thought so too... Exemplary sword skills, but then came that terrible Truss-style FIGHT speech!
Just found this!...Β

A very good result in terms of seats, but worrying in terms of vote share, and what could happen under PR.
This election would (I presume) have resulted in a Lib/Lab/Green coalition, but a fairly small swing to the right could see the Tories governing with Reform pulling a lot of strings.
On the other hand, it is to be hoped that many right wing voters will now see a vote for Reform as a wasted vote.
Rosie Holt has crossed the floor and is now Labour!
I predict that the Tories will vote for BraverPerson as their new leader. She'll then form a new coalition party with Reform called the ConForm party. Their tagline will be "You will obey". Their key policy will be that anyone who doesn't vote for them will be sent to Rwanda.
