I'd not heard of Steve Harwell or his band Smash Mouth (wut?) but these songs from 1997-99 are very familar (from radio?) and very funky.
He died a couple of weeks ago, from the demon drink.
The musician, who struggled with alcoholism, was diagnosed with the heart ailment cardiomyopathy in 2013; and subsequently a neurological condition which affected his memory and speech.

Sorry, Bobby, I thought you'd died years ago... my mistake. Definitely a part of my childhood though, as (while not a football fan at all) I do remember watching him and his pals winning a certain trophy many decades ago.
