I'm a long-time Femi fan, but not seen much from him lately.

He knocks it out of the park in a concise 5 mins with his latest - a rebuttal to to the ever-slick Tom Harwood on QT ...

The Government are making it harder for some people to vote, under the guise of voter fraud (which is virtually non-existent). So Trumpian.

GOV-UK

Use this service to apply for a ‘Voter Authority Certificate’.

You can use it to vote in person in some UK elections and referendums. You cannot use it as ID for any other reason.

Before you apply, check if you already have accepted photo ID.

You need to apply for a Voter Authority Certificate if:

  • you do not have accepted photo ID
  • you no longer look like the photo on your ID
  • the name on your photo ID is different to your name on the electoral register - if so, you can register to vote again, or take a document to prove you have changed your name.

I wonder why the other parties haven't mobilised, and sent out people canvassing for the electorate to be made aware of this piece of blatant gerrymandering.

I suspect that most of the people who will be disenfranchised wouldn't have bothered to vote anyway, but there is undoubtable a sizeable minority who could usefully be informed of what they need to do to enable them to cast a vote.

Nonsense this is for as no particular sense makes it.

Do, or do not. There is no try.

There was something about the photo ID being needed earlier on this year in our local news:

And in 2019 when it was announced (adblock needed for that link as it's a ReachPlc site):

We'll have to cut @jez plenty of slack for a few days ...

Not only is BoJo fighting for his political life, there's Oakeshott who betrayed The Times by selling her soul to The Telegraph, and then the Sue Gray announcement which has the Tories faux-'outraged' over absolutely nothing at all! (100+ fines from the police Partygate plot!)

Despite not even following him, my twitter timeline is absolutely full of Lineker debate!
