What is so sad - incomprehensible, really - is that, knowing the the tories want to throw so much public protection legislation out of the window, 25% of the electorate are so animal stupid that they still say they are going to vote for them.

Yes, BoJo (and Trump) have sadly changed politics for years to come. Complete lack of principles, following the money, and lies, lies and damned lies.

This DE ?? comedy sketch is funny ...

... and relevant ...

... the passive aggression of today's populist right. Holy ? ...

A lot of people are so entrenched in their party loyalties that nothing can change them. My parents will likely vote Tory next time. They're at the age now where they don't really apply critical thinking, just believe the rhetoric (if they remove the protection for the bad people, it also removes the protection for the good people - and who decides who's good or bad?). My mum still chuckles that she's got her blue passport back.

Yes, and there are also far too many people voting on ONE SINGLE ISSUE and not looking at the larger picture.

The Tories are thinking the small boats issue alone might help them attract enough Brexiteers and UKIPPERS to vote them in again next time (and who knows, they could be right).

I'm hoping that another right wing party will split the tory vote.

To be fair, the guy in the black uniform a couple of (posts back*) is probably only doing what he does to ensure that there's 'balance'.

For some reason Wordfence/Wordpress is blocking insertion of the video. MOD EDIT - fixed

Q - what's the source ? You should be able to just post the direct YouTube URL without any embed code.

I quoted the line above ("This DE ...")  and the video.

As you say, just using the url works perfectly well. Duh!

Oh yes, I see - for some reason the WordFence firewall blocked it - was probably suspicious of the wrapped code in the quotes. Fixed now.
