Anyone else doing these? I like word games, and doing the daily Wordle has become part of my morning routine. I've been doing them about a year and have only failed 3 times - and one of those was because a hectic break to my routine meant I forgot about it so my streak got reset. But I think I'm doing alright, on a 100% win rate (due to rounding of course).
That's a great track record! ? Do you start with the same initial word or set of words ?
I did these back in the day - certainly my kind of puzzle, as there's no time limit, and the longer you think the better you get! But my interest waned after a month or so. Don't really see it mentioned on Twitter nowadays, either (unless I muted the word!)
My Mum mentioned that she'd recently started playing this new game ...
I always start with the same (secret) word, simply because it means I don't have to wonder what to start with. And I don't read up on it - I'm aware there are endless videos and tips available, and I started to watch one once and it was bollocks. The only thing you have to be careful about is that occasionally the answer is the American spelling of a word.
Like d8, I played it for a couple of months and then lost interest. It was annoying when I'd just manage to get my mean score under four, and then I would hit a word were you got quickly got four letters correct but there were so many options for the final letter that it would take the maximum number of attempts - in one case I actually failed - thus spoiling my mean score.
I always started with 'STARE' - which seemed as good an option as any.
Yes, part of my morning routine too. Played it for 363 days apparently. Failed a couple of times and forgot one day. Mrs F and daughter F play also and we compare daily scores.
I always use the same first word (SATIN) then CHORE. If I haven't got many letters after those then I use LUMPY.
Just having a go for the first time in ages ... oof ...
Took me 5, but there were two valid words at the end, so could easily have been 6.
I like it when this happens.
Wordle 571 2/6*
I do it out of habit now, along with Quordle and Octordle each morning. A colleague and I exchange our scores every day, we work on a 'best of 3' approach, it gets quite competitive!
If you've not tried Quordle and Octordle they're worth a look, as you have to think about it slightly differently
Hadn't heard of those but just did the Quordle and I think I'll add it to my mornings. Far too many ordles in the other one though. Cheers.
