The 'Private Messages' thread started by shufty was a classic....
"I want to send a private message to ColinP, how do I do it?"
"just type their name in square brackets, then the message, the square brackets with a "/" before their name again."
"[colinp]My friend told me about you and I was wondering if we could email each other?[/colinp]"

A fair suggestion! But no, I'm unable to find any (simple) way to implement this.
@driver8 that wasn’t a serious suggestion! ? ? People used to get so annoyed at losing their post count on the old site.
